You can find out about our services, how to access them and some general information about how our practice operates. If you live in our practice area and would like to register with us, please complete our registration form that is available from reception.
Please note that you will be registering with the practice rather than an individual GP. If you would like continuity with a particular GP please consider there may be a wait. However, all GPs can access your medical record and will be more than happy to help.
Lambgates Health Centre is a Training Practice. This means hospital doctors wanting to enter general practice spend twelve months with us in order to gain the experience they need to become family doctors. We also train Foundation Year 2 doctors (in their second year after qualification); medical students from Manchester University; nursing students and work experience students.
On the 20th of September our Reception/Administration , Management, and nursing team all look part in an LGBT training session. ‘Pride In Practice’ With the intention to raise awareness by completing the accreditation award.

October - Breast Cancer Awareness Month
The Breast Cancer Awareness Month, marked in countries across the world every October, helps to increase attention and support for the awareness, early detection and treatment as well as palliative care of this disease.
We are always trying to think of ways to improve our services, and our telephone system was one of the areas that was mentioned the most.
We have a shorter opening message from Dr Palmer and we have introduced options to our telephone service:
- Press 1 to Book Appointments
- Press 2 for Test Results - Please note this is between 11-am and 2pm only
- Press 3 for Prescription Queries - Please leave a voicemail and the Prescription Clerk will return your call before 3pm that day.
- Press 4 for the Secretaries for Referral Queries
- Press 5 for the Cancellation Line - here you can leave a brief message to cancel your upcoming appointment. Please note this is not to re-arrange; it is purely to cancel.
- Press 6 for Any Other Queries
We hope this will make telephoning the practice a lot easier and you can save time by being put through to the correct department at first.
We would welcome any feedback on this new service.
All calls may be monitored, recorded, stored and used in any telephone, email or other communication with you, in order to check any instructions given to us for training purposes, crime prevention and to improve the quality of our services.
