Set in a tranquil and leafy location in Ashton-under-Lyne, the purpose built Hospice provides specialist Palliative Care to those suffering with life-threatening illnesses. The Hospice first opened its doors for Day Hospice patients in May 1999 and for In-Patients the following September. Since then, the Hospice has cared for more than 2,000 patients and their families.
The Hospice is a place of warmth and comfort set in a homely environment which is often a relief to those who have spent months - sometimes years - in and out of hospital. Contrary to belief, the Hospice is full of life, love and laughter; staff ensure patients maintain their dignity and live life to the full within their own limitations.
The staff and volunteers at Willow Wood Hospice are committed to providing a better quality of life - the Hospice was designed with the needs of the patients and their families in mind and provides a warm and cheery atmosphere. Everyone who visits Willow Wood is touched by the positive ambience.
The Willow Wood Hospice Team is committed to patients requiring Palliative Care, during the changing phases of their illness.
We will encourage patients, regardless of race, colour, religion, age, sex or sexuality to maintain their identity, dignity and independence whilst also supporting their family, friends and carers.
